About Me

The Sojourn Sparrow aka the Blue Haired Writer

One of the hardest parts of being a writer is in instances like this, where I must describe or introduce myself to strangers. What do I say? What would someone really want to know? Well everything, of course. Duh.

I’m an avid fan of American Pin-ups, stilettos, mascara, elephants, off-the-wall art, bright colors, flowers, fish-net stockings, red lipstick, loyal dogs, good coffee and even better friends. And I’m lucky to be surrounded by all of the above. Well except for elephants. But they’re not far.

My family is pretty amazing. There are 11, 9 of us all together if you count the five dogs 🐶, the bird 🐦, and a horse🐴. *for those of you following the drama, Icharus went to birdie heaven and Whiskey is with a new family after MiniMe’s accident.

For the moment, I will focus on the humans in Pack Hinton. First off there is me. I’m Leah 👩🏻. I spent 20 years married to, BigTough. We have the best job ever — raising two amazing children. MiniMe 👩🏻,  and Little BigTough 👦🏼.

Our oldest daughter is MiniMe, aka the Mermaid. She looks a lot like me. People often mistake us for sisters. I don’t mind. Really. As a matter of fact, it’s quite the compliment – perk of being a young-ish mother. Of course, she has a bit of BigTough mixed in for good measure. She swims like a mermaid, graceful and fast. And is by far the funniest person I know.

Our youngest, Little BigTough, aka the Mancub is a statistics genius. At least where football stats are concerned and amazingly enough, all things iPhone. Don’t dare argue with him over how a millimeter doesn’t make much difference in the thickness of a phone. He will debate you, pull out facts, and win. He is a handsome dude with an amazing brain, and is a pretty stellar comic to boot.

Now, this won’t be an ordinary writer’s blog. (Shocking, I know.) I can’t just dump writing facts, memes and tips on you. Snooze 💤 Besides, that’s what I use Twitter for. Here I will share intimate details of my life. I will be an open book.  Well, mostly open.  Gotta save some bits for when we meet in person.

So I will write about many things. Tons about art, my war with my behind, dating, friendships, oh, and of course the writing process will show up once in a while, as I continue my many works in progress — one of which is a suspenseful foray into the world of a Texas K9 officer caught up in a search for a madman and a missing girl.

Oh and don’t even get me started on the foray into the land of big-stage, jukebox musicals.  Because, yep.  I’m writing one with the best dang writing partner a girl could ask for.  More about Mr. Wells a bit later. I had no idea being a playwright would bring me such joy.  SO MUCH JOY!

Grab a cup of coffee. Pull up a chair. Stay awhile.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to subscribe, follow, like & click — you know the drill.

Till next time,

Leah xoxo💋
